Oils of Ancient Scripture

A flowing, class-like journey through ten sacred oils mentioned in the Bible — their history, scripture, and modern-day use.

A Sacred Heritage

Historically, essential oils or aromatic oils were used by Egyptians as early as 4500 B.C. Scripturally, oils appear in the Bible time and time again, often referencing olive oil, but the ten oils we are about to explore are also all mentioned.

Join Coach Linda as we walk through each oil — its Biblical reference, its ancient use, and how you may choose to welcome it into your life today.

Usage & Safety

Two simple, safe ways to welcome these ancient oils.

Aromatically

Put 6–8 drops of an essential oil or a combo in your diffuser. The diffuser will send the oil into the air and fill the room with the scent and beneficial properties of the oils.

Topically

Apply essential oils to your skin. Dilute with a carrier oil — one drop of essential oil with 10–15 drops of coconut, olive, or almond oil, then apply to your skin.

Purity is extremely important when it comes to wellness products. When you use products that are pure, you will have more effective results. Products formulated with synthetic ingredients may not provide any results and can potentially cause damage to your body.

Aloes

(Sacred Sandalwood)
Rose of Sharon / Aloes

“He was accompanied by Nicodemus… Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds.” John 19:39–40

THEN

Aloes appears in the Bible five times in both Testaments. Believed to be made from fragrant sandalwood, it was used to prepare Jesus' body for burial. The amount Nicodemus purchased would be worth over $200,000 today — a testimony to how important Jesus was.

NOW

  • Diffuse before bedtime when the mind is racing
  • Apply as a warm, woodsy perfume or cologne
  • Add to daily skin care to enhance natural radiance

Cassia

A spice made from the bark of East Asian evergreen trees, closely related to cinnamon.

“All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia…” Psalm 45:8

THEN

Mentioned three times in the Old Testament, cassia was a key ingredient in the incense of temple worship, the anointing oil, and the oil that burned daily in the temple lamps. It dates back to Egyptian times and was used during mummification.

NOW

  • Rub a drop through your hair for a warm, spicy aroma
  • Diffuse with Clove, Ginger, or Christmas Spirit during fall & winter

Safety: Dilute well with carrier oil — may feel warm on skin. Use with caution if pregnant; avoid on children and sensitive areas.
