Why Ditching Fragrance Changed Everything for Me...

Why did I make the switch from perfumes and colognes to natural essential oils? It is a journey I am grateful for, and one that has brought an incredible change to my well-being. Initially, I used cologne—not perfume, which felt too pricey for me. However, as I discontinued its use, I began to notice the breathlessness and anxious feelings I had grown accustomed to were linked to those fragrances. Without really knowing it, my mood fluctuated, and my body chemistry was affected by the synthetic components.
Once I eliminated these toxic elements from my life, my mood swings and feeling of discomfort saw remarkable improvement. This realization sparked my research into the chemicals embedded in commercial fragrances designed to supposedly make us feel uplifted or more confident. Though these scents often provide an immediate sense of power or positivity, beneath the surface, they were taking a toll on my health.
Every time we apply these products onto our skin, their unwelcome ingredients are absorbed into our bloodstream. Our skin's pores act like tiny gateways, allowing these substances into our body which are then processed through our lungs and vital organs, including the liver—the body's major detoxifier. Over time, this creates a troubling cycle where our systems become burdened with chemicals - especially our endocrine system i.e. our hormones are now out of balance.
Discovering the world of essential oils was my solution, offering a natural alternative that aligned more closely with the ancient practice of using fragrant oils for well-being, as seen in Biblical times. This shift allowed me to experience scents in their purest form.
